Opera Cultura will produce a three part video series for Create TV titled “Death and Transcendence - An Artistic Exploration Across Cultures”, which will chronicle Hector Armienta’s exploration of this theme with locals artist working in traditional art forms. The premiere will take place at Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana (MACLA) in May 2010. This project will inform Hector Armienta’s work as he develops, La Muerte, part III of the music theater trilogy, Aguas Ancestrales. He is hoping to discover new ways to tell his stories through a multicultural and multidisciplinary lens. For Opera Cultura, this project will be an opportunity to foster relationships with traditional artists from Silicon Valley that can be collaborators on future projects. This project is made possible through support from First Act's Multiculturual Leadership Initiative program. |
